I have been attempting to be a sounding board for a friend of mine who is having, shall we say..."lady troubles". I find myself in this odd situation trying to be friend/giver of advice/shoulder to lean/voice of reason, etc. WHILE at the same time trying to defend our gender. While on one hand I need to be supportive of the friend, on the other hand I can totally relate to what the girlfriend is saying and find myself thinking, "Yeah! I know what you mean sistah!". Not exactly helpful. It is funny when you have to try to relate to a man exactly what a woman is feeling and thinking. I see how different our two opinions as sexes can be and it really does amaze me. She says he is distant, he thinks she is crazy. She thinks he has stopped doing all of those sweet little things he used to do to woo her, he thinks she is psycho. Here is the clincher...when I asked if they have talked today he said,"No, I have tried calling and have left her three messages, she won't answer. Come to think of it, she is just getting interesting!"
Uhm. WE are the crazy ones?
